What are you doing over March Break? Some people are traveling while others are spending time at home with their friends and family. Please let us know what you are up to, even if it isn’t a major trip or an exciting event. Feel free to ask questions or comment on what you read here.
I hope everyone will meet the goal of reading for one hour each day so that we can all make it to the Mount Everest reading party. Don’t forget to record your reading and get it signed. Think about making a note about a section that you could use for a response journal. If you are behind on your responses, make sure to have them all completed by the time you get back to school.
Have a great time!
My family and I are going to California over March break. We are leaving on Sunday and I hope I have fun. I’m going to take my journal with me so that I can catch up on the plane, and I’m thinking two longs books will be enough for the trip.
My birthday is on the Wednesday of March Break. I am going paintballing. I am hoping to catch up on my journals over the break.
How long will the flight to California be, crayola5?
Hope you have a great birthday, lotta13!
I will be going to Toronto for some shopping over the March Break but other than that I will be staying home. I have to do a lot of practising on my violin as I am concertmaster for my next orchestra concert. And, there’s always marking and planning for school – it never seems to end. Tonight, I hope to go see a movie. Any suggestions?
Well, I will be going to my cottage and then shopping in Detroit! WOOT!
I am very excited to get some new spring clothes. This will only be my third time at my cottage because we bought it at the end of last summer. So, we will be painting the bunky and just hanging out, getting it all ready for the summer to come! Hope everyone has a great break!
Did you see Slum Dog Millionaire? I heard it’s a good movie. Also there is a movie coming out on March 20th called Knowing. It looks very exciting.
I’m not doing very much on March break. I might catch a movie or two, read some books but overall just relax. Have a good march break everyone!
Jill, my mom and I were planning on taking a few tours of possible universities for her. We were going to see Queens’ University and have my cousin Lauren give us a tour and then get a hotel and go wedding dress shopping (for my mom) the next day, although my sister decided she has no use for the program Queen’s offers so that plan is cancelled.
We also want to go see the Sound of Music Musical in Toronto with my Grandma. There’s a really good deal and my mom thought we should take advantage if it!
Other than that I don’t have any other plans except for catching up on sleep and having a diet consisting of Kraft Dinner and Orange juice mixed with Gingerale. I also plan to see some of my friends that I haven’t seen in a while, and I might take a drive up to St. Catherines to see my friends from camp!
I am so excited for March Break!! I am leaving after school today for Syracuse, New York where my aunt and uncle live. She has seven kids and I can’t wait to see them! On the way back from New York, my parents are dropping me off in Guelph to hitch hike home!! No! Actually, my other cousins live there who I am baby-sitting on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, I am having lunch with my Grandparents. Thursday is free and the following weekend I am going to Collingwood! Soo…you can probably tell I am quite busy, but that’s okay. I guess I will see everyone on Monday!!
Well, I’m doing nothing over the break. I’m going to try and find something new and exciting to do every day to keep myself from being bored. But, the bright side of this, I don’t have any homework!! WOOT!
I’m going to be working on my science fair for march break, as well as updating my fanfiction story (which I haven’t updated since the beginning of February), writing a story for the short story contest, practicing for my piano exam in August, and practicing for my ballet exam in April. So, pretty much, I don’t have much interesting planned.
My sister, on the other hand… I’m REALLY jealous of her, because she is going to Paris, Provence, and Barcelona, for ten days during the March Break, with the WCI latin program. She’s bringing me back a beret (sp), though
.
Oh… also, I’m going to a musical theatre workshop that is run by Stephanie Graham. It is going to include dance, as well as singing. I’m not a very good singer, so its going to be kinda embarrassing
. I think I’m going to have fun though.
I am visiting my cousins in the States, in Memphis, Tennessee. We’re driving, and it will take 18 hours. But, once we get there it is going to be so much fun, and my aunt apparently has a busy schedule planned for us, so I am a bit nervous…
I haven’t seen Slum Dog Millionaire yet, but I would really like to. Maybe I’ll get a chance next week.
Don’t forget to read over the break – an hour a day would be nice, especially if you haven’t finished 12 books yet. You should be at 14 by the end of March in order to make the goal. Don’t forget to get everything signed.
Some of you also have journals to complete. I will try to think of a new approach to the journals when we get back. Whatever we do, we must have an opportunity to make connections, predictions and inferences and to reflect on our reading. Does anyone have any interesting ideas?
Lastly, graduation picture orders are due on March 24th. Make sure to bring in your order form with payment after the break.
I am in Memphis right now and we are going to the zoo with my two cousins, Julia and Tori. It is so warm down here and it really makes me realize how cold Canada is. It is about 17 degrees Celcius out or about 70 degrees Farenheit. We are touring a hospital, going to Elvis’s house or going to Imax tomorrow and I am really excited.
Well, I’m going to get my BB gun, hang with friends and family, and eat eat eat! I’ll try to do my journals and the rest of my homework.
Other than that I’ll do nothing but sleep 24\7.
Oh, yo, I found out that someone murdered my relatives in Conover, N.C. on Thursday, March 12, 2009. I don’t know them at all but I’m trying to do research on it. My aunt is having a hard time with this because these were her cousins – the story is called (Unknown Conover Quadruple Killer. N.C. Cops Searching For Killer Who Annihilated Family.)
Check out the site please:

(To thelidded1) Wow, I’d love to see Elvis’ house! Make sure you take lots of pictures. Maybe you could post a couple.
(To Chaos) I’m sorry to hear about your mom’s cousins – that sounds terrible. I hope the police will catch the culprits.
What is everyone else up to?
I just got back from Toronto and I went tubing with Karleigh on Monday. It was cool!
This March break flew by way too fast for me. While on the break I was always busy. On one of the days my aunt and I made a blanket, and we also sent my cousin’s Easter present out to him in Alberta. I had a sleepover with 2 of my cousins from Wednesday to Thursday. In those 24 hours we went to Chucke Cheeseās, the market, robotics, and had time to sleep. On Tuesday my dad, brother, and I went to the sugar bush, helped Tom at the chicken farm, and went to physio. On Saturday, Erica, Nicole, my Aunt Robin, and I went grad and confirmation dress shopping. I did not get either of mine yet but Erica got both of hers. I hade a great March break but I wish it didn’t have to end!
Over my March Break, Sydney and I had a sleepover on the first Saturday and we went to each others barns, then I went to Niagara Falls for 3 days. When I came home I rode my horses and went to a Waterloo Siskins game. It was pretty good because they won!!! On the last Saturday of the March Break my mom and I, my brother, and my grandma went to Toronto to shop for a bit and also for my grad dress, but I didn’t find one there :[
