first to post

In the book I think Peak’s father, (Josh) doesn’t exactly know how to connect to Peak, because the father-son relationship is missing. I think he does want to earn the title ‘dad’ but he is going to have difficulty doing so.
Peak, seems very outgoing and independent. I think his character and his father’s have similar personalities.
I think Peak and his father reconciling on their climb to Everest will be easy, but will have some confrontations. :S

I agree with calcio because peak and his father do seem alot alike. Ther’re both climbers and they’re both very independant.
I definitely feel the same way about the father son realationship Peak and his dad share. I am going to talk about Peak’s sisters Paula and Beatrice.( I think those are their names.) It seemed like it didn’t actually click into their heads that they were not going to see their brother for a long time. I don’t even really remember a meaningful “Goodbye” happening. I guess because they are young and such that they wouldn’t really realize what was happening but I just wonder what was going through their heads at the moment they said goodbye to him. I wonder what kind of message it was …. “What flavour of ice cream am I going to have?” or “Don’t cry, don’t cry.”?????

( I will talk about more charaters another time)
Actually, the twins names are Paula and Patrice…remember the two “peas”? What do you think of the relationship between Peak and his two little sisters?
I have a younger sister.
I wouldn’t be able to live withought her. When she is away for a day or so, the house feels very empty and lonely, and I wish that she is around.
I can see that it is VERY difficult for Peak withought them.
I would feel terrible and empty. Peak also has a realy strong connection with his two sisters. As he stated, he loves making them laugh. The way that they talk around eachother too, they are always getting along. (as it seems)
In conclusion, I personaly beieve that Peak and the two “Peas” get along well and are very close. Thus making it hard for Peak being away from his family, his sisters.
I hope the two “peas” come back into the story again. I liked them!

I agree with poneylover that Peak has a really strong connection with Paula and Patricia. I only have 1 sibling but everyday I don’t see him (witch is quite often know) my day seem’s to be less enjoyable so I know what it would be like at an even younger age for the twins not to see Peak for a long time, therefore I believe that Peak and Paula and Patricia are very close
I agree, life without seeing my siblings for a few months would be alot different and very sad too. Especillay at a young age like Paula and Patrice. It must be hard for them to see him leave for months and it’s even harder for them because Peak and the “Peas” are very close.
Oops, that last comment I posted was for the Peak characters
. Sorry!
I have 1 sibling and 3 step-siblings. i am really close to my one sibling and closer to one of my step-siblings. With my sibling I don’t know what I’d do without him because he’s always there to support me and is always really funny and nice.
I think Peak’s dad, Josh, is feeling really disappointed in himself because he hasn’t been in Peak’s life much.
Oops. I didn’t mean to send that post yet so I’ll finish.
It does seem that the Peas are really close together and I feel really bad for peak because he has to leave them. Although it was really nice of Josh to come and help Peak.
It’s a great opportunity for Peak and his father to get aquainted with each other since they haven’t really been involved with each other that much.
I’m also glad to hear that Peak was going to miss his step-dad even though they weren’t close. I have a step-mom and I feel the same way about her the way Peak feels about his step-dad.
I agree that it was really nice for Josh to come and help Peak, however, I find it strange that he comes now and not ever in the past 7 years. I wonder if he just came to be able to take Peak up to Mount Everest.
It is too bad that Josh will have to make up for all the time he has not been with Peak, however, they will be together for a long time, and I hope they get a stronger bond between them.
I think the characters in Peak are interesting because they don’t seem like the most loving family. For example, the Dad doesn’t tell his son to call him Dad, he’s almost making him climb Mount Everest and he’s making him stay on his own for two weeks in a hotel. Also, this must be very difficult for Peak because he hasn’t seen his dad for a long time and he’ll be separated from his sisters and Mom for a long time. I can’t imagine what that would be like. I would miss my family too much.
I think that Peaks’s dad, Josh, feels sorry for Peak because he was never really around when he was little. That is why he told Peak that he has not earned the tittle of being called father. I can’t imagine my life without my Dad around. Peak and his father don’t really know each other very well, but I believe that they will get to know each other better on their climb up Everest. Although Peak and Josh do not know each other very well they are very much alike. They both like climbing and are both very independent.
I can’t wait to read more.
I think Josh, Peak’s Dad is feeling sorry for him because he wasn’t around Peak when he was little. Josh told Peak not to call him Dad because he was never there for him. They don’t know each other every well, but I think that they will get to know each other when they climb Everest . Josh and Peak are alot alike eg: they both love climbing!
I really like this book and can’t wait to read more of it!!!
I can’t think about living my life with no dad!!
In the book Peak, I think the character Peak is a very brave and outgoing person because he climbed many skyscrapers. I also think that his father, Josh, is the same way because he is about to climb Mount Everest with Peak. The bond between Peak and Josh, is definitely not the best. For example, he tells Peak to call him “Josh” instead of “dad”, because that’s what all his buddies call him. It seems like Josh wants them to be friends rather than father and son.
I think Peak’s mother is very nice and cares for Peak alot because when he got himself in trouble, she came and was very upset. She also was upset when he left to go live with Josh. I believe most Moms would be sad if their child went to live with someone else for a long time. The child would probably be sad also. I know I would be.
I agree as well!
well, she better!
I wouldn’t want to be in Peak’s possition right now.
I find it sad that his dad can’t really give him the time of day, to talk about his life and his chilhood. What he missed, ect.
I believe that Peak’s mother is a lot more on top of things. I am excited to hear what Peak’s dad will turn into in the end. Josh has got to me moved or more motivated to be a father. I hope he will. My mom, I am sure would miss me. When ever I go away to camp, she is over joyed to see me when she comes to pick me up at the end of the week,
poneylover
I agree with gialloconiglio3 with how she thinks the mother is feeling.
When my sibling and I go away for even just a little while, she misses us. If one of us had to leave for over a year I think it would be very difficult on her.
I also agree with everyone else that I can not picture my life, without my dad
On Thursday, October the 1st my uncle died. He was living with me and my family. I know that he is in a better place but I don’t know how to deal with that this week.
I’m very sorry to hear that rain2drop. It will take a while but eventually you will be able to think of him without being so sad and you will treasure all the good memories you have of him. Hang in there!
I think that I can finally get on again now onto the blog. Yes!
I agree with what everybody said about Josh feeling sorry that he was not around when Peak was little. It was very brave of Peak to accept the challenge that Josh had placed in front of him. Then again, Peak is already a great climber and I believe that he and Josh will get to know each other better in the future.
Oh, and I’m very sorry also to hear the great tragedy, rain2drop.
Oh it is ok septimusheap4453 oh and thank you northlake2!
Sorry rain2drop.(about your uncle) I have never met my grampa or my grandma.
